Meet adam nelson

I'm an Idaho Native, born and raised in South Boise, my wife Kelly and I have lived in Meridian since 1995. We have raised three children who are now starting families of their own in Meridian.

Kelly and I have operated the Meridian Speedway since 2009. Prior to the Meridian Speedway, we spent 2 years in Roseburg, Oregon operating the Douglas County Speedway, from 2007-2009. In 2003 I left my job in commercial construction where I specialized in framing and acoustic ceilings. It was then we started our racing business at Chaparral Speedway in Eagle, ID. Together Kelly and I started building our business while maintaining the stay-at-home lifestyle for our children as they grew up.

I have a passion for the American Dream, I want my grandkids to be able to realize their own American Dream.

I believe we protect the American Dream by first protecting things at home. Idaho is my home, Meridian is my home. With your vote, I will represent the people of Meridian in District 21a with transparency and honor.

I'm running to be your Representative in District 21a because the representation we have now, is not what I and I know many others believed we were voting for in the last election. Big Government, big spending is not what I signed up for. Candidates who campaign on conservative values and do the opposite once elected have a name. I hope you will help me take one Idaho seat and give it back to the people.

Illegal immigration, Government spending and inflation are foremost on our minds when it comes to the issues we are faced with today.

Illegal immigration should be stopped in its tracks.

Government spending is out of control, it should be reduced to the needs of the people, not the needs of the special interest.

Inflation, we are all victims of the failed policies nationally, shoring up State level policies to protect Idahoans is a priority.

Strict fiscal responsibility and transparency is a promise I make to the constituents of District 21a Meridian.

I'm passionate about all topics related to the 2nd Amendment.

Education:

‍● Investing in our students through Commonsense Corporate Revenue Proposals that will allow the state to fund much-needed health, safety, and educational programs for communities and students throughout the state.

● Fully funding Foundation Aid and conducting a study to update the nearly 20year-old Foundation Aid formula.

‍Reproductive and Equality Rights:
‍
● Protecting against any government actions that would curtail a person’s reproductive autonomy, access to reproductive healthcare, or core freedoms by enshrining a broad series of equality rights into our state's Equal Rights Amendment.

Clean Water Initiatives:
‍
● Enacting the Safe Water Infrastructure Action Program to provide funding for local drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure.

● Limiting specific types of the “forever chemicals” through the PFAS Discharge Disclosure Act, which would require all permitted facilities and industrial users discharging waste to conduct annual PFAS testing and make the resulting data publicly available.

● Appropriating $500 million in funding for flood mitigation, stormwater mitigation, and other water resiliency projects via the Water Resiliency Projects Fund.
